I'm A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin issued a savage comment about an upcoming campmate.

The ITV camp is soon set to get a shakeup as two new arrivals head into the Australian jungle. Former Love Island star Maura Higgins and Reverand Richard Coles have confirmed they are entering camp to shake things up. Maura will become only the second ever Love Islander to take part in I'm A Celebrity after Olivia Attwood 's short stint.

Meanwhile, Reverend Richard Coles told the Mirror his preparation for the jungle entailed consuming 5000 calories a day on a cruise and avoiding ‘triggering’ nature documentaries. Before Richard and Maura headed into camp, hosts Ant and Dec shared their thoughts on the new arrivals while on spin-off show I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked.

Ant didn't hold back when giving his own verdict on Richard as he compared him to Maura. The presenter belives Maura will bring fun and engery into camp, while Richard will act as a stable and calm figure. Ant added: ""More people might know her," in reference to Maura and how the public will receive her entrance.

Viewers also noticed the comment as one said: "Ant is just dying to stir things up in there... they want the conflict but I like the harmony." Another added: "The good thing about unpacked is that Ant & Dec are actually unfiltered and are actually showing their annoyance towards campmates." Someone else commented: "Can always tell when Ant n Dec are frustrated at c**p trial efforts."

Richard, who was part of 80s band the Communards, opened up how he is preparing for jungle life as in an interview with the Mirror, he said: “I would like to say that I've been lowering my calorie intake to prepare for that, but that's not worked out so far. I've been trying not to look at nature programs about the horrors of Australia.” The 62-year-old confessed he is worried about his snoring and “everybody wanting to kill me because I keep them awake at night.”

Maura has also opened up on her appearance on the show as she revealed she is determined to fly the flag for Love Island's former contestants. She told the Mirror : “I just don't want to let people down, because everyone's been DMing me, saying 'Oh my God, I hope you're doing the show.’ I don't want to back out of the trials and be the biggest wimp in the camp.”

Maura admitted her mum was left flabbergasted when she told her she’d signed up for the Jungle. “She nearly died. She went: 'Maura, how are you going to do that?’ She is baffled as I'm more of an indoor girl…I like my hotels. I've never slept outside."
