The Sky TV blockbuster upgrade customers have been waiting for
by Jamie Barlow, Dave Snelling · NottinghamshireLiveSky is evidently encouraging more customers to switch to streaming, as seen by the numerous deals on devices like Sky Glass and Sky Stream on their website. The advantages of streaming are clear: no need for complex installations, no unsightly satellite dishes, and the ability to set up without an engineer's visit.
Once the device arrives, it's as simple as plugging it in, entering your Wi-Fi password, and starting to watch live and on-demand content within minutes. However, there is a significant drawback to streaming, particularly for sports fans.
Streaming services, such as iPlayer, are typically 30-40 seconds behind standard over-the-air signals. This delay can be frustrating when watching live sports events, as viewers may find out about a goal almost a minute after it happens.

Sky has begun addressing this issue. Earlier this year, they pledged to speed up their streams, and it appears they are delivering on that promise.
Customers with a Sky streaming device, including Sky Glass TVs, can now access a new low latency sports channel that reduces the lag by an impressive 22 seconds, reports the Mirror.
Sports fans can now enjoy an experience almost as good as watching via a dish or aerial, thanks to the new update on Sky Sports Main Event. The update is starting with this channel but more are expected to follow.
To view the low latency sports channel, you can opt in on the Live Sync button on Sky Sports Main Event, tune into the dedicated channel on the TV Guide – 921 for HD customers and 922 for UHD customers, or voice search by saying " Sky Sports Main Event Low Latency" or "Sky Sports Main Event Live Sync".
If this update has made streaming sound more appealing, Sky has just launched its big Black Friday sale event, including offers such as a Sky Stream box at its lowest-ever price, allowing you to sign up and watch TV for just £19 per month.
