Travis Kelce sends timely reminder to Josh Allen and Bills after Chiefs' unbeaten run ends

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday as the Buffalo Bills - one of the best teams in the NFL - ran out 30-21 winners at Arrowhead Stadium

On the latest 'New Heights' podcast, Travis Kelce applauded the Buffalo Bills while his sibling Jason issued a caution.

"I have a feeling this is not going to be the last game the Kansas City Chiefs and Bills play this season," said Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason - suggesting Travis and the Kansas Chiefs could meet the Bills in the NFL Playoffs.

The Bills clinched a pivotal victory over the hitherto unbeaten Chiefs 30-21 last Sunday, propelled by another virtuoso display from Josh Allen. With just half-a-game separating these titans in the AFC Standings, they look set for another nail-biting playoff clash, their fourth face-off in five years.

"I think we're very confident we'll get things fixed, we have all the talent that we need to go and win another Super Bowl," Travis told his brother on the podcast.

But for the Chiefs to truly contest, Travis needs to up his game. The 35-year-old tight end snagged a meagre two receptions for eight yards on Sunday, while fellow tight end Noah Gray scored two touchdown grabs. "I've been on Super Bowl-winning teams," Travis continued. "We have enough talent to... make a run at this thing, and I think everybody knows that."

Despite solid performances from the offensive line and defense, the Chiefs' impressive 9-1 record owes much to luck as well, with the team showcasing a flawless 7-0 record in one-score games, a stark contrast to their 4-4 result in such games the previous season.

Patrick Mahomes has seen a dip in his performance, with an average of just 240.4 yards per game, marking the lowest of his career by a significant margin. In stark contrast, Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has leapt forward in the MVP race for 2024 after another stellar performance with over 300 yards and two touchdowns, one in the air and one on the ground.

On the podcast, Jason couldn't hold back his commendation for Buffalo's gameplay. "Kudos to the Bills - they played great. Josh Allen played fantastic. Like we were saying, they sustained a lot of drives," he said.

"The Kansas City defense has been so good - the defense didn't play bad. It was more like the Bills made plays at the right time. Josh played great. This was too really good teams going against each other."

Meanwhile, Travis remains optimistic about his side's prospects even after acknowledging they were outmanoeuvred in Sunday's defeat. "All we gotta do is just be at our best, and that's what we were not for four quarters," the younger Kelce said.

"There wasn't a single quarter where it was like, 'We out played them, we got them on that one.' No, they were out there, they had a little bit more (of an) idea what we were doing, and they were fundamentally more sound in a lot of different areas."
