Tom Brady Coming Out Of Retirement: NFL World Reacts

by · The Spun

In a stunning Sunday night announcement – but not a completely unexpected one – Tom Brady announced that he is coming out of retirement to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022.

Brady took to Twitter on Sunday and announced that after taking time to consider it, he still wants to play. He believes he has “unfinished business” and is looking forward to playing a 23rd season.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” Brady wrote.

Interestingly enough, most people reacting right now don’t seem surprised. The writing has been on the wall all day and for the better part of a month.

That decision might have come at a huge financial cost to one memorabilia collector who bought his touchdown ball to Mike Evans in the playoffs for over $500,000 last week:

With Tom Brady coming out of retirement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will probably see their Super Bowl odds skyrocket.

The Buccaneers won it all in 2020 with Tom Brady at the helm. This past year they reached the NFC Divisional Round before losing to the eventual champion Los Angeles Rams.

But Brady isn’t done yet. He’s got at least one more run in him with Tampa Bay before he reconsiders retirement again.

It may take a career-ending injury before he finally calls it quits.
