Tyson Fury explains why he wants to retire after Dillian Whyte fight

Fury has explained that he wants to retire undefeated in a similar "elite club" to Rocky Marciano, and has hinted at retiring after his defence against Dillian Whyte

Tyson Fury wants to retire as an undefeated heavyweight champion after his clash with Dillian Whyte.

The 'Gypsy King' is set to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

Fury has frequently hinted at retirement since his trilogy victory over Deontay Wilder and now insists he will hang up his gloves this year.

After twice becoming heavyweight champion, Fury is ready to go out and get "f***** up" after his career ends.

"I haven't got a lot left in me but the old dog has still got a got a couple of big fights left in him," Fury told the Pat McAfee Show. "Think of all the hard work I won't have to do, I will drink alcohol and get f***** up.

"I have been in boxing over 20 years, I have a lot of wear and tear but I am the undefeated two-time heavyweight champion.

"[I want to join the] special elite members-only club; there has only been one person before me to retire unbeaten and that is the great Rocky Marciano.

"I'll be the second one it is like an elite club with elite boxers only, just two of a kind. I still feel like I have a lot left to prove in this fight, I want to go out as the undefeated champion. I want to make a Hollywood movie on my life after boxing.

"Boxing is a small part of it but I've got to finish it and become part of that elite level club. I was always concentrating on boxing but now I know I am getting towards the end of my career.

"I have achieved everything and I am financially secure, so now it is about time I consider focusing on other things like being with my family."

Fury has flirted with retirement several times, but has also suggested he will not quit until he settles his domestic rivalry with Anthony Joshua.

For now he will face domestic rival Whyte in his second title defence and is focused on delivering a knockout performance.

His opponent has yet to be lured in to the pre-fight build-up and was a no show at yesterday's press conference to promote the event.

Fury believes there will be no chance that Whyte misses the fight however and has admitted he would "drink every day" to earn a £6million payday.

“I am 100 per cent confident; he is getting 32 times his biggest payday so he is definitely coming," Fury said. "Only an idiot wouldn’t turn up for that.

"Even if he was out on the drink for every day from now to then he will still turn up. For £6m I would go out drinking all day every day, eat s*** food and still turn up."
