Time is running out for you to get in on the Glenna Hoggarth Memorial Car Raffle and 50/50 draw.

The Armstrong Kin Club fundraiser will be giving away a 1976 Corvette Stingray to one lucky winner of the raffle next month, and it will also award a massive sum of cash from the 50/50 draw.

Tickets are close to selling out in the 50/50 draw, which has already topped the $96,000 mark—meaning the winner will take home at least $48,000. The maximum 50/50 payout will be $49,515, so you better move quickly for your chance to win big.

Hoggarth was a longtime member of the Armstrong Kin Club, giving back to her community at every opportunity before passing away due to breast cancer in 2019. After Hoggarth’s husband, Kevin, purchased the Corvette and restored it with family friend Ron Welch, the Hoggarth family decided to donate it to raise money for both breast cancer research and for the club. The Glenna Hoggarth Memorial Car Raffle was born.

The deadline to purchase tickets for the car raffle and 50/50 draw is approaching quickly. The draw for both will take place at 4 p.m. on Oct. 13, and the sales deadline is at 1 p.m. on the 13th.

The Stingray’s official colour is Kandy Brandywine from House of Colours Paint, meaning the shade changes from black to burgundy to a vibrant red depending on the angle of the sun. Its interior has also been completely refurbished, featuring a brand new upholstery kit, carpets, centre console dash pad and headliners. The in-dash stereo is a replica that matches the original style but updated with an auxiliary port that allows the driver to plug in their phone.

Over the course of two years, the L48 engine was completely rebuilt and upgraded, fitted with a stock camshaft, oil pump, water pump, distributor and rebuilt alternator with new exhaust manifolds including a dual exhaust system. The car’s underside has been modernized as well, with all the bushings in the suspension and body mounts having been replaced with high performance urethane components.

You can already picture yourself cruising down the road in it, can’t you?

Not only will you have the chance to win the sweet ride, but you will also be making the world a better place. Armstrong Kin Club donates to a variety of organizations and programs, including Cystic Fibrosis Care BC, Kinsmen Foundation, search and rescue organizations, and Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

It also supports bursaries for high school students and the local food bank, and it covers costs that allow for free skating over Christmas at NorVal Arena.

“We try to keep our money—as much as we can—all in B.C.,” club past president Jim Martin says.

Raffle tickets for the car are $30 each, three for $75 or five for $100.
