CII to organise AI summit on December 17, 18 in Chennai
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduConfederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu is hosting the 22nd edition of CII Connect, on December 17 and 18 in Chennai. Based on the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Action: Real-World Applications in Business”, the summit will focus on the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionising operations, enhancing efficiencies and driving innovation across industries. The event will be chaired by Srivats Ram, Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council & Managing Director Wheels India Ltd. and co-chaired by Rajesh Varrier, EVP, Global Head of Operations and Chairman & Managing Director, Cognizant India.
It will be inaugurated by IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan. Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services. Kumar Jayant, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Digital Services, will join as a panelist.
The two-day event will discuss the critical role of AI in rural and urban transformation, manufacturing operations, supply-chain resilience, smart governance and community empowerment. It will also explore advancements in next-generation technologies like quantum computing & AR/VR, the development of AI-enabled products and the importance of industry-academia collaboration in building an AI-ready workforce.
With participation from over 400 senior leaders across industries, CII Connect 2024 promises to be a vibrant platform for thought-provoking discussions, knowledge exchange and collaboration to drive the adoption of AI in businesses and governance.
