Popular Camera Company Offers Single Staff Over RM600 in Cash Incentives to Go on Dates & Find Love
by Renushara · WORLD OF BUZZIn an effort to encourage its single staff members to go on dates to strengthen their sense of belonging and boost overall happiness, a company in China is now providing them with cash bonuses.
According to a report by South China Morning Post, Shenzhen-based camera company, Insta360, is taking this initiative to help their employees foster romantic connections.
Insta360 is apparently offering its employees 66 yuan (RM40.71) for each valid introduction of a single outsider to their company’s online dating platform.
On top of that, if an employee matches with someone outside the company on the dating platform and maintains a relationship with them for 3 months, all parties involved (the employee, their romantic partner and the dating platform’s matchmaker) will be rewarded with 1,000 yuan (RM616.80) each.
The company has allegedly given out about 10,000 yuan (RM6,168.35) in introduction bonuses since introducing this initiative. Dating bonuses have yet to be handed out as this initiative has only been running for less than 3 months.
This dating reward has apparently received mixed reviews.
While the company staff love the initiative, with one employee adding, “My company is more eager than my mum”, others believe that love should not be driven by cash incentives.
However, others have pointed out that the Chinese government should consider following suit due to the country’s declining marriage rate.
