Nuit Blanche returns to downtown Kelowna for its 11th year this October.

The Centre Culturel Francophone de l'Okanagan is organizing Nuit Blanche in Kelowna, Saturday, Oct. 5. This year's theme is “Through the Stitches”; an evening woven with multidisciplinary arts, performances, experiences, and concluding with a magical “silent disco” dance party.

Downtown Kelowna will be transformed into an evening of art and wonder as soon as the sun goes down.

Nuit Blanche is a celebration of creativity where the community is invited to explore a world where art lights up the night.

"From illuminated visual arts that glow against the night sky to interactive workshops that invite you to weave your own creativity, this year’s Nuit Blanche features both local and travelling talent and most events are family-friendly and free to the public," says CCFO executive director Helene Girardot.

Theatrical performances are expected to blur the lines between reality and imagination, and the evening will conclude with a “silent disco” where audiences can don a headset and choose between three styles of local DJs to dance to.

“Nuit Blanche started in Paris and Montreal in the early 2000’s and spread quickly all over the world. For over 10 years, the CCFO has shared this tradition with the community and brought together so many creative disciplines and artists into one cohesive and magical experience,” says Girardot.

The Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan is a non-profit organization that is the centre for all francophones and francophiles of the Okanagan region wishing to meet, learn and grow together.
