Coronation Street fans say 'it'll end in tears' as they 'work out' Leanne Battersby's revenge plan

Coronation Street fans think the known soapland pretty well by now and have said 'it'll end in tears' as Leanne Battersby ploughed on with her revenge plan.

As viewers of the ITV soap know, Leanne's ex-partner Nick Tilsley cheated on her with her sister Toyah Habeeb with the truth coming out amid Institute mentor Rowan Cunliffe's control of Leanne and blackmail of her loved ones.

Leanne and Nick have since split and while she seemingly hoped of a reconciliation, that was dashed when she realised Nick and Toyah were seeing each other. Leanne has opted not to confront them, instead moving back into the flat she shared with Nick.

During Monday's (December 2) trip to Weatherfield, Leanne was seen in court as Rowan was finally questioned over his involvement with Leanne, Amy Barlow and The Institute.

After Amy and Nick had taken to the stand, it was Leanne's turn and after she was harshly quizzed by the defence barrister, Rowan smirked, provoking Leanne into a furious rant about how he had ruined her life. But Rowan responded and insisted that Leanne had created her own problems.

While outside, Toyah questioned Nick about his closeness with Leanne, but still arranged to meet him at her hotel. Meanwhile, Leanne continued to pretend she was clueless, but ensured that Nick and Toyah couldn't spend time together by feigning vulnerability and asking Nick to join her for a drink before making a move on him, after already gushing to Toyah that Nick was being a supportive partner to her.

They were interrupted with news of the court verdict and were later celebrating the update in the Rovers. Then back at the flat, Leanne found Toyah's passport, having discovered she was joining Nick on his planned trip to Spain, before gleefully revealing to her the latest developments with Nick.

And there was quite a divide among Corrie fans about the storyline and where it could be going. @odosh_1 said: "Toyah deserves what is coming to her, You cannot sleep with your sisters husband and think you can have a happy ending." @tracy.c70 wrote: "Leanne is going to bring Nick and Toyah down in true Battersby style."
