Car smashes into Bristol traffic lights

A car crashed into a set of traffic lights causing long queues on a busy Bristol road ahead of rush hour. Muller Road was left blocked early this morning (Tuesday, December 17) after the crash.

The collision, which involved one vehicle, took place just after 5.30am today. Police said the crash took place near the Lidl supermarket.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said a set of traffic lights were damaged and the road was blocked.

No injuries were reported at the scene, they added. After causing delays ahead of the morning rush hour, Muller Road was reopened by around 7.30am.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "There was a single-vehicle collision on Muller Road in Horfield just after 5.30am on Tuesday, December 17 in which traffic lights were damaged, blocking the road.

"There were no reported injuries, and the road reopened by 7.30am."
