Everywhere facing snow in UK freeze next week as 11 towns and cities listed
by George Allen, James Rodger, Monica Charsley · NottinghamshireLiveThe latest weather maps have pinpointed exactly which areas in the UK are set to be hit with snow next week, with 11 towns and cities named specifically. WXCharts' updated forecasts suggest a potentially white Christmas, including on the day itself.
The recent visualisations show regions that stand the highest chance of snowfall, indicating that the West Midlands, Manchester, and Stoke-on-Trent might expect significant flurries. The Yorkshire Dales and the area between Carlisle and Darlington are braced for the heaviest snow.
Meanwhile, smaller amounts are forecasted for places like Worcester and Hampshire. These projections coincide with expert warnings of "heavy snow" in certain locales.
James Madden of Exacta Weather has highlighted that we might see the wintry conditions emerge towards the end of the week. He commented: "Our current forecast projections also show a higher than normal probability for some moderate to heavy snow at times across parts of northern England and Wales, and a more moderate to slightly less high possibility of this in some central regions of the country and to the east of Ireland for this same period."
"Additionally, throughout Thursday and into Friday will also bring the risk of some at least transient and moderate to heavy snow in parts as far south as central and southern England and in and around the capital, particularly during the late and early hours in this period, when it will be significantly cooler and more optimum for snow to fall and settle in these parts.", reports the Mirror.
The expert warned residents to prepare for "wintry weather and snow showers", according to Birmingham Live. He further stated: "Widespread snow showers will be falling across certain parts of the country by next Wednesday, before something much bigger and a major snowstorm during 23-27 December. By next Wednesday, December 18-19, we will now see some widespread snow showers of varying intensity developing across the country once again, and despite them being more potent and noticeable across the northern half of the country, there is no reason why some parts quite far south won't also see some form of wintry weather and snow showers developing during this period."
