A woman has been left wondering whether she should leave her husband after he answered a seemingly simple question in a very unusual way.
Despite trusting our partners, doubts can creep in from time to time. Is your partner cheating? Would they betray you, given the chance?
While occasional doubts are natural, our partners should be able to ease our concerns when we need them to. However, one woman got an unexpected response when she asked for reassurance about her husband's fidelity.

The woman, who had only been married for a few months, casually asked her husband if he would ever cheat on her during a recent conversation. She expected him to say no, but instead, he said that "if the circumstances made sense," then he would.
She confessed that it was probably "stupid" of her to ask, but his answer "still hurt." He apologised and reassured her that he wouldn't cheat, but she couldn't shake off his initial response and brought it up again a few hours later.
In a candid Reddit post, she recounted: "He immediately became angry. [He said things like] 'You're a f***ing baby'. 'Get the f**k over it'. 'Grow the f**k up.' I'm in tears at this point and he is continuing to show a complete lack of regard for me and my feelings.
"He then went on to say, 'If we were in a sexless marriage or I wasn't getting what I needed or we weren't getting along, then yeah, it would be plausible to cheat.'"
The woman expressed her uncertainty about how to proceed with her marriage after learning of her husband's harsh words. She described him as a "good man," who turns "mean" when she's distressed.
Reddit users were appalled by the husband's comments and dismissive attitude when confronted by his wife's emotions. Many advised her to consider leaving him to prevent future betrayal, while others noted that the relationship seemed unhealthy regardless of whether he had been unfaithful.
One commenter warned: "Sounds like he is OK when he's getting everything he wants, but I think deep down he's a selfish a**hole. There's a saying about believing someone when they tell you who they are. This guy is telling you, he will cheat on you and believe me 100% it's going to happen."
Another person chimed in: "Your feelings should never ever be belittled no matter what question you asked. The way he is treating you isn't ok. You will spend the rest of your life walking on eggshells if you stay because you are going to do everything in your power not to make him upset. No matter how good he is when things are good, I couldn't live a life like that."
