Adani bribery case: Sharmila says Jagan weaving a web of lies

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila Friday (on November 29) accused her brother and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of weaving a web of lies about his role in the Adani bribery case.

In a post on ‘X’, the State Congress chief referred to Mr. Jagan’s claims of innocence at a press conference he addressed on November 28 and slammed the YSR Congress president for making ”overpriced power purchases” from the Adani Groups and shifting the financial burden thus accrued on to the common man.

She said while other States desisted from signing agreements with the Adani Group, Mr. Jagan’s government rushed into the deal offering huge concessions, prioritising personal gains over public welfare.

She challenged Mr. Jagan to take on oath on the Bible and say if he did not gain anything from this secret deal with Mr. Gautam Adani.
