TTD to serve meals to 10,000 devotees during Tiruchanur Brahmotsavams

Twenty LED screens have been installed in surroundings areas of the temple and temple tank to facilitate devotees to get a closer view of processional deity

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that food will be provided to 10,000 persons per day during the nine-day Karthika Brahmotsavams at Sri Padmavati temple at Tiruchanur, beginning November 28, 2024.

Apart from Annaprasadam, devotees will be served dal, sambar, rasam, sweets and a curry on all the nine days of the festival.

TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao, who inspected the arrangement at the temple on November 27 (Wednesday), visited Annaprasadam Centre to check for the quality of the food being prepared and sanitation at the food preparation centre.

TTD Joint EO V. Veerabrahmam, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer S. Sridhar and Deputy EO C. Govindarajan accompanied Mr. Syamala Rao.

The TTD has also made arrangements for serving drinking water, badam milk, bisi bele bath, curd rice, vegetable upma and sweet Pongal to more than 50,000 devotees through 120 counters.

Meanwhile, the Tiruchanur temple has been spruced up with dazzling cut-outs made of illumination, rangolis and floral exhibition for teh festival.

Addressing the media, Mr. Syamala Rao said that arrangements had been made to ensure the successful conduct of the festival on par with the grand event of Tirumala.

Twenty LED screens have been installed in the surrounding areas of the temple and on the four sides of the temple tank ‘Padma Pushkarini’ to facilitate the devotees get a closer view of the processional deity.

Special gates have been erected to for the entry and exit of devotees to the Pushkarini area and temporary toilets. Signboards and radio broadcasting services would guide the visitors to different destinations.

Four ‘holding points’

The TTD has come up with a novel concept of arranging four ‘holding points’, where devotees can have nightstay on December 5, ahead of the ‘Panchami Theertham’ rituals observed on the final day.

The four points are set up at ZP High School, Pudi Road, Navajeevan Eye Hospital and Tiruchanur Gate.

All the processions of the temple will be aired live on SVBC HD and SVBC’s official YouTube channel, while commentary will be available on the SVBC Online Radio.
