Outpatient (OP) tickets at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) will now cost ₹10 each. The decision, made in a meeting of the Hospital Development Committee chaired by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh recently, will be implemented from December 1, 2024 onwards.

The ticket rates are applicable at the Institute of Maternal and Children’s Health, Institute of Chest Diseases and the Dental College besides the MCH.

The fees have been imposed with an aim to raise funds for the day-to-day and developmental activities of the hospital.

The District Collector said the MCH in Kozhikode is a haven for thousands of people from different parts of north Kerala and that it was hence necessary to improve the facilities there. “Though ₹10 is not a big amount individually, it could make a difference in ensuring better facilities,” he added.
