Atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh must stop immediately: RSS
Sangh demands immediate release of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das from “unjust Imprisonment”.
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduRashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Saturday (November 30, 2024) said atrocities being committed against Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh by “Islamic extremists”, including attacks, killings, looting, arson, and inhumane persecution of women, are alarming and they must stop immediately.
Mr. Hosabale, in a statement, said instead of taking steps to stop these incidents, the current Bangladesh government and other concerned agencies remained mute spectators. When Bangladeshi Hindus raised their voice democratically, a new phase of injustice and oppression emerged to suppress their voice, he said.
“Bangladesh Government arresting the ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was leading one of such peaceful protests of Hindus is unfair,” Mr. Hosabale said.
The RSS urged the Bangladesh government to immediately stop the atrocities against Hindus and release Mr. Das from prison. It also urged the Government of India to continue with its efforts to prevent the atrocities against Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh and to take necessary steps to garner international support in this regard.
“At this critical juncture, Bharat (India), the global community, and international institutions must stand with the victims of Bangladesh and express their solidarity. It is necessary to demand respective Governments to take all possible efforts in this regard which is necessary for global peace and fraternity,” the statement added.
