ITV I'm A Celebrity's Danny forced to scold 'lazy' Dean as he tries to escape chores
As tensions continue to rise in the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! camp, former McFly singer Danny Jones has been forced to step in and scold Dean McCullough for his behaviour
by Susan Knox · The MirrorI'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Danny Jones was forced to tell his fellow campmate Dean McCullough just to 'get on with' his chores in camp - as tensions continue to rise.
Radio presenter Dean, 32, has been causing havoc in the camp after a run-in with Coronation Street star Alan Halsall last week and after he decided to opt out of doing a Bushtucker trial only mere minutes in.
On tonight's instalment of the ITV programme, Dean is seen complaining about his camp chores - but new camp leader Danny, 38, is having none of it.
In the camp, Melvin continues with his water duties and Dean is nowhere to be seen. As Melvin tells his fellow campmates: “This is a lone man situation, he’s very good at disappearing.”
When tasked with carrying one pot of water back to camp, he told his fellow campmates: “That is no joke, the pot is so heavy.” As he said: “I hate doing the water guys I’ve said it, I’m just gonna have to hold my hands up, it’s an awful job and I hate it, and I don’t wanna do it anymore. Guys I can’t, it’s not for me."
As he continued, Danny the camp leader said to Dean: “Just get on with it mate.” As Melvin encouraged Dean to carry on fetching water with him, and the camp told him to adopt a positive attitude, Dean said: “Look, no beef, no drama, I just hate my job."
Melvin joked: “Listen, your new name is Houdini because you like to disappear." The camp descended into laughter as Oti exclaimed: “Shots fired!” while Dean was left too shocked to speak.
Dean has divided opinions since joining the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here camp, but one radio co-star has jumped to his defence. The early morning presenter for Radio 1 has faced countless trials in his stay so far Down Under, screaming the phrase ' I'm a celebrity, get me out of here' on two occasions.
And as tension started to rise in camp, he also clashed with Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, who tried to wake him to do his chores. However, his radio co-star Danni Diston has defended him and joked: "I did think in my head he's probably having a bit of a lie in out there," before saying he'll be enjoying getting more rest in camp.
Dean is usually on air from 5am to entertain the early risers. And Danni continued to tell the Sun, he's usually very cheerful. "I have never really experienced a grumpy Dean so I'm lucky in that sense. I don't think he's a very grumpy man. He does early breakfast and you have to be quite up and on it to do earlies."
She added that his small fallout with Alan could have been due to tiredness or the fact camp are starting to go hungry. The altercation came as Dean continued to sleep while Jane Moore was left to complete their firewood collecting task.
