ITV I'm A Celebrity fans fume as they spot star's 'sneaky strategy' after Tulisa's trial
I'm A Celebrity fans have shared suspicions over one of the campmates, questioning if Dean McCullough was vying for attention after Tulisa Contostavlos was voted for a trial
by Joel Leaver · The MirrorFans of I'm A Celebrity shared suspicions that a strategy was being used by a campmate this week after co-star Tulisa Contostavlos was voted for a bushtucker trial.
Tulisa, 36, took on her very first trial on Wednesday night's episode of the ITV show. It came after Jane Moore, 62, and Maura Higgins, 34, did the previous one, following several trials that involved radio presenter Dean McCullough, 32.
Dean currently holds the record for the most trials of the new series, having done six already - with his seventh trial set to air on Thursday night. Host Ant McPartlin even called for viewers to stop voting for Dean just last week.
Following the news earlier this week that Tulisa would be taking part in the trial Shock Around the Clock, some fans questioned whether Dean was "acting up" for screen time. It isn't the first time that he has faced such speculation.
Wednesday's episode saw tensions among the campmates rise following Tulisa's trial, with Dean attracting attention over his approach to chores in camp. He's tasked with carrying pots of water but said he didn't want to do it. Camp leader Danny Jones, 38, told him to "just get on with it," whilst Melvin Odoom, 44, poked fun over the situation.
Some fans questioned on X, formerly known as Twitter, whether Dean's behaviour was an attempt to get more screen time and potentially get voted for another trial. One viewer speculated: "Maybe Dean is being like that bc he wants to be voted for trials again since his airtime has decreased."
Another teased: "Because he's not doing the trials lately, Dean is kicking off to get the attention back on him…and maybe another trial." Whilst a third viewer wrote: "Dean is craving attention now he's not being voted for trials."
"Suddenly acting up and threatening to leave the jungle the day after he finally loses the trial vote," another fan questioned. Someone else said: "Dean is desperate for attention now he's not being voted for the trials."
Sharing their thoughts, one fan said: "I bet Dean was purposefully lazy for attention so he would get voted in a trial again for screentime." Another teased: "I'm getting a vibe Dean is p***ed off the public didn't vote for him to do the trial…"
One viewer said in a post: "Dean acting up on camp because he's not being voted for trials and knows he needs to get screen time." Another said: "So Dean's not getting voted for any trials so he's kicking off in camp for air time instead?"
At the end of Wednesday's episode, it was revealed that Dean had been voted for the next trial. He will compete against co-stars Danny and Alan Halsall in a series of challenges to win credit for their team in trial the Rank Bank.
