Man Utd predicted XI as Luke Shaw issue forces Ruben Amorim reshuffle at Arsenal
Manchester United will head to Arsenal without a host of their big names, Lisandro Martinez among them, whilst Luke Shaw is a late withdrawal due to a fresh injury setback
by Samuel Meade · The MirrorManchester United will head to Arsenal without Luke Shaw, who confirmed he had been dealt another injury setback less than 24 hours before the clash.
Ruben Amorim was hoping to start the left-back for the first time since taking over, but the England international took to social media to confirm he'd be spending several more weeks on the sidelines. Shaw is one of several United stars who will miss the trip to London.
Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo both picked up yellow cards in the win over Everton and will each serve a one-match suspension. Leny Yoro though could make his competitive debut for the Manchester outfit after months on the sidelines.
The summer signing picked up an injury in pre-season and hasn't been able to feature for the club since making his big money move from Lille but Amorim is now looking to use the teenage defender and has underlined his excitement at seeing him return.
He said: "Maybe Leny Yoro is going to be in the squad. I felt he’s in a good moment now, his fitness is better, so I think he is going to be in the squad.
"We didn’t have too many trainings together. He’s training not alone but with a small group of players. He’s really fast but he’s a modern defender and that is good when you want to press high. I think he is a special talent but we have to be careful in this first moment."
The Emirates has not been a happy hunting ground for the Manchester outfit in recent years. On each of their last three visits they've conceded three times but will have taken a huge dose of confidence from their 4-0 win over Everton at the weekend with Marcus Rashford back among the goals.
He is set to be part of an attack that also features Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes. Manuel Ugarte meanwhile is looking to show his value in midfield. The summer signing was part of Amorim's Sporting Lisbon outfit two years ago and is more than comfortable operating in it.
Amad Diallo has shown himself to be a hit as a wing-back since Amorim introduced his system and Diogo Dalot has operated on the other flank.
A win for the Red Devils would see them close to within three points of Arsenal, who sit second, as they look to quickly put their poor start to the season behind them.
Man Utd predicted line-up (3-4-3): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire; Amad, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dalot; Fernandes, Hojlund, Rashford
