Tiki Barber thinks Giants plane ‘troller’ should be focused on Jets’ mess instead

WFAN host and former Giants running back Tiki Barber wasn’t too enamored with the fans who hired planes to fly over MetLife Stadium with a harsh message for team ownership amid another dismal season.

Barber labeled them a “troller” during Tuesday’s edition of “Evan & Tiki” on the popular New York sports talk station and questioned why it wasn’t Jets fans literally airing their grievances over the state of Gang Green.

“We’ve been talking the last couple of weeks about the Giant fan or troller, cause I don’t know if it’s really a fan, flying aircraft over the stadium,” Barber said with a hint of displeasure in his voice.

Barber continued to object to the fan’s actions by pointing out that the Giants had reached the postseason during head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen’s first years at the helm in 2022.

“You went to the playoffs and won a game two years ago,” Barber continued after co-host Evan Roberts pushed back that they were likely a fan or fans. “What in the hell are you talking about? Now if you want to fly a plane, fly it over the stadium, or at least when the stadium is in use by the team that hasn’t been to the playoffs in 14 years.”

The Giants defeated the Vikings in the Wild Card and then were eliminated by the Eagles the following round.

When Roberts shot back that the last two years had been a disaster for the Giants, Barber tried to deflect that the Jets had been in that spot for the past 14 seasons.

Barber seemed unwilling to acknowledge the point that Big Blue fans had after the team signed Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million extension after the 2022 season.

Jones’ tenure with the Giants officially came to an end after he was released at the end of November and the decision not to re-sign running back Saquon Barkley has seemingly come back to haunt them.

The Giants are also in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick amidst a 2-12 season.

In an interview with NJ.com, the fan that hired the second plane – which flew high above the Meadowlands during Sunday’s loss to the Ravens – said the idea was to embarrass Giants owner John Mara into action.

“The biggest thing that the Mara family prides itself on is pride in themselves,” the fan told the outlet. “And so, if you’re able to make it more embarrassing, it will further force them to take action.”
